Nabendu Bhattacharya

Nabendu is a practicing since 2004 as an Advocate of Supreme Court of Bangladesh and proud to be a Bangladeshi citizen. Currently, he is a member of the Litigation and Anti-Piracy, Anti-Counterfeiting & Enforcement teams, focusing his practice in administrative matters, highlighting proceedings before several administrative authorities, nullity trials before the Court, Lawsuits before District Courts and Collegiate Circuit Courts, related mostly to regulatory and intellectual property issues. 

Nabendu has also participated in administrative procedures of infringement, nullity and cancellation before the Court of Industrial Property and subsequent instances, related with the defense of copyrights, trademarks and patents rights of the clients. Likewise, he is involved in various lawsuits against the National Institute of Transparency, Access to Information and Protection of Personal Data; he is focused on defending and protecting the personal data and confidential information of the clients and orders to disclose confidential information. 

Also, Nabendu participates in civil litigation, especially those focused on the claim of compensation for damages caused by third parties infringing the intellectual property rights of the clients namely Hawkins, Lubrex FZC, Lubrico Oil of Dubai, Pizzeria Halt of America HOICHOI and many other companies worldwide with highest confidence and fidelity, Nabendu has been nominated as the only member of RALA (Russian Asian Legal Association) on behalf of Bangladesh and received a certificate as recognition from the international convention held in Dubai. Not only this, he received the “Top 50 Emerging Lawyer” award for providing proper legal support to many national and international clients on intellectual property law. 

Recently, the Copyright Act, 2021 has been approved on principle in the cabinet of Bangladesh and among other lawyers, Nabendu also provided an opinion for writing the draft of law based on his expertise in that field. He regularly delivers legal lectures in different organizations and Universities including Sree Ramkrishna Institute of Computer Education & Applied Sciences, E-Justice.com and Pharma Nest-21 etc. and achieved certificate of success. As an adviser of BRAC, he is involved regarding Rohingya issues, Some of his write-ups have already been published in different journals of Bangladesh namely The Financial Express, The Mirror & The daily Bhorer Kagoj etc. As a lawyer of Bangladesh he has achieved a certificate in recognition of Pro Bono work.
